Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.
We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.
Phi Kappa's Philanthropy
At Phi Mu Phi Kappa, philanthropy is at the heart of everything we do. As proud partners of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), our chapter supports Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital, our local CMN hospital. We’re committed to making a real difference in the lives of children and families in our community through creative, impactful, and heartfelt events. Our signature philanthropy events are more than fundraisers—they're opportunities to bond as a chapter, connect with campus, and celebrate the spirit of giving: Get on the Ball – One of our most beloved traditions, this event brings the entire campus together as students sign a giant inflatable ball that we roll around Academic Row. Each signature helps raise awareness and funds for CMNH—one name, one step closer to making miracles happen. Desserts After Dark – There’s nothing better than sweet treats and sweet company. This late-night dessert sale is one of our favorite ways to connect with one another and the campus community, sharing laughter, indulgent bites, and a shared purpose—all in support of our local children’s hospital. Milkshakes for Miracles – Partnering with local favorite The Udder Bar, we raise money for CMNH one delicious milkshake at a time. It’s a feel-good, taste-good event that brings town and campus together in a big way.
